Origin. We could not find a dated first post, so the date here is approximate. The jokes surged on 2 May 2025: Daily Dot's roundup of first-delay reactions already had PC players resigned to waiting until 2028. After the second delay on 6 November 2025, Newsweek highlighted "Me in the year of 2070" and "Rockstar Games changing the GTA 6 release date every 3 months".
How people use it. Under any news about the date: a calendar with a random year circled, an old man at a console, a fake press release. The joke even got its own prediction market: "GTA 6 launch postponed again?" opened on Polymarket on 6 November 2025.
Example. A calendar page for November 2030 with "GTA 6 (probably)" written on the 19th.
