Who we are
We are a small team of meme editors and developers. We are not a news site, not a game guide and not an official Rockstar fan site. Our job is to be the place where the funniest memes about games show up first, and to explain where every meme came from, with dates and sources.
Loco Coast is our own made-up stretch of crazy coastline: Florida-style chaos without anyone's real town in it. Our recurring cast lives in Room 6 of the peeling Motel Paraíso:
- Iguanito, a lime-green iguana who freezes and falls off his palm whenever hyped news turns bad. "Cold news."
- Don Chompo, an alligator who considers the motel pool his property. "I live here."
- Flamingita, a plastic lawn flamingo who has seen everything since 1987 and says nothing. "I saw nothing."
- Grandpa Preload, who sat down in a deckchair the day GTA V came out and never got up. "Any day now."
- Val, a streamer with twelve viewers, eleven of them her own accounts. "Chat, is this legal?"
Not every meme needs them, but they show up a lot.
What we make
- Meme of the day, plus four more fresh memes on the home page.
- A page for every meme: what it means, where it came from and how to use it, with dates and sources.
- Meme templates: blank pictures with our crew, free to download for your own memes.
- A suggestion box in our Telegram and Discord: send us your meme, and moderators add the best ones to the weekly vote, with your name. The site itself has no meme maker.
- "Things we got before GTA 6": a dated list of real events, each with a source.
- The GTA 6 meme glossary: classic GTA memes and new ones, explained.
- Stickers of our characters for your chats.
- A weekly meme round with free voting.
How rounds and voting work
- Every week has a round with its own theme. It opens on Monday at 21:00 UTC, as the last one closes, and runs for a week.
- Studio memes join the round every day. Community memes come from our Telegram and Discord: moderators pick the best, ask the author first and add them with the author's name.
- Voting is free and needs no account: up to 5 memes a day from one device, one vote per meme, counted with an anonymous device id (see our Privacy policy).
- When the round closes, the three memes with the most votes win the week and go to the Hall of Fame (a tie goes to more votes on the last day, then to the earlier entry). A meme without votes never wins. The studio can mark the winners itself instead, for example when a meme broke the rules.
- The rules of each round are published before it starts and do not change midway.
- A vote is not a purchase and creates no obligation for you or for us.
- We add extra checks, such as a captcha, only when voting looks automated.
How creators get paid
Creators can earn by taking Loco Coast tasks on DareBay (darebay.com), a platform for paid content tasks. You make a short video with our templates or characters, post it on your own account and get paid for verified views, as each task describes. Paid posts are labeled as ads. More on our Disclosures page. The formats, the rules, your profile link and the free creator kit (our characters on green screen, the logo, lines) are on For creators.
Independence
Loco Coast is a fan project. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Rockstar Games or Take-Two Interactive. We write "GTA 6" only as plain text, to say what a meme is about. We do not use their logos, fonts, trailer frames, leaked footage, music or game screens. Our characters, art and layouts are our own.
