Origin. Know Your Meme's GTA VI page lists an early aging joke from 5 February 2021: "Me when GTA 6 finally drops", which collected about 25,000 likes. The caption borrows the "Me and the Boys" snowclone that spread in 2019.
How people use it. It peaks on delay days. Twenty minutes after Rockstar moved the game to 19 November 2026 on 6 November 2025, a reply under the official post read "Me and the boys when gta 6 finally comes out" over a group of older men. It passed 17,000 likes, and Newsweek put it in its roundup of the best reactions.
Example. Two grey-haired men on a couch, one holding a games console, captioned "me and bro by the time GTA 6 releases".
